Overview

Head of Cost Estimating & Pricing Would you like to work in a key finance role where you will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and governance across all cost estimating and pricing activities? We currently have a vacancy for a Head of Cost Estimating & Pricing at our Rochester Site Our Rochester site has operations that form part of 3 of the businesses within the broader US-based Electronic Systems Sector, generating $300m of turnover per annum, with 1450 employees. It delivers a broad range of contract types to a wide range of commercial and military customers, and is primarily a world-class high technology electronic products business with specific emphasis on displays, control sticks, and control systems. Rochester has a co-located bid centre with representation from Commercial, Cost Estimating and Pricing, Independent Cost Estimating, Engineering and Operations. The businesses at the site typically submit approx. 175 - 250 major proposals per year across commercial and military customers. As the Head of Cost Estimating & Pricing you will report directly to the Finance Director and with reporting requirements into the Business Winning Director, you will work closely with other functions to provide leadership to the pricing elements of the bid process - developing and maintaining governance and capability which supports business requirements of turnaround time and affordability, whilst achieving estimate integrity and enabling smooth hand-off to business delivery. Your main responsibilities as a Data Controller will involve: Leading a team of Senior Cost Estimating & Pricing Analysts and Principal Cost Estimating & Pricing Analyst. Scope and lead an improvement programme for cost estimating and pricing Champion cost estimating and pricing disciplines at the Rochester site. Utilise data of past actuals and develop Power BI reporting and generate useful matrix Maintain and ensure compliance with cost estimating and pricing processes and procedures Working jointly with commercial function to take responsibility for co-ordination of Bid Status and Request for Bid Approval processes and reviews Ensure the collection of historical cost, programme and technical data from past actual bids and programmes for use in near neighbour analysis and to support the generation of metrics and Cost Estimate Relationships Review and implement appropriate training and development activities to ensure appropriately skilled and knowledgeable resource in bid teams and the cost estimating and pricing team Provide leadership to both the pricing elements of the bid centre and the cost estimating and pricing team Your skills and qualifications: Experience of mobilising and leading successful cross functional teams Able to analyse estimating and pricing data Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise and reproritise bids to meet deadlines Broad experience of bid and cost estimating and pricing tools and techniques and familiarity with the appropriate application of Lifecycle Management Excellent stakeholder management skills are vital.
