Overview

Riverside have a new opportunity for a Specialist Support Worker, working full-time, on a permanent basis. You will earn £24,677 per annum. Work will be scheduled on a rotational shift basis from Monday to Sunday. Who you’ll be helping Jamaica Street Project in Bristol offers emergency accommodation and support for customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Kingstown, Bristol. Our high level support aims to increase confidence in managing mental health or drug or alcohol dependency issues, improve life skills and help you move into more appropriate accommodation. We also offer emergency beds to people sleeping rough in the city via outreach teams and council referrals. We support our customers in finding a route back to employment and help to access training and volunteering opportunities and external specialist services for mental health and drug and alcohol support in order for customers to move on to independent living and maintain their tenancy. What will you do? As a staff member committed to "best practice" in the social Housing field, you will deliver individual, positive, outcome focused support packages to customers of Riverside Supported and Sheltered schemes, ensuring that the support service promotes empowerment and independence. Day to day Your usual responsibilities as a Jamaica Street Project Specialist Support Worker will include: • Ensuring the delivery of individual personalised support packages, reflective of different client needs, including culture and diversity issues. • Assisting clients with day-to-day tenancy issues, payment of rent, claiming benefits, preparing units to let. • Promote and encourage a high level of client involvement, consultation and communication. • Maintaining an accurate and timely record of all activities including the maintenance of a support planning database. • Manage and motivate staff to provide high quality, customer-orientated services. Even better, you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills too. You are experienced when it comes to working with vulnerable client groups and have delivered structure support in either a housing or a social work setting previously. You have demonstratable basic proficiency in Microsoft office as well as the willingness to learn company specific IT systems and complete relevant training.
