Senior Carer Support Worker - Maternity Cover Are you motivated, have a passion for Healthcare and who strives for excellence in all aspects of your working life? If so then look no further A great and exciting opportunity has just come available for a Senior Carer Support Worker based in York. You will be responsible for advocating the work of the charity and supporting young carers within the community. The position will include travel around York, North Yorkshire to visit young carers in their homes and support them with signposting and activities to help with their daily challenges. My client is well established but is looking for a driven individual to further promote the outstanding work that they provide within the healthcare sector. ·Salary - £23,836 - £24,799 depending on skills and experience ·Hours - 28 hours to include some evening and occasional weekend work which can be claimed back in time off in lieu. ·Area - York, North Yorkshire. You will need your own transport and business insurance to be eligible for the role. Responsibilities - Senior Carer Support Worker ·Identify and provide a range of information, advice and support for young adult carers (aged 18 - 25 years) reflecting their needs ·Undertake home visits for new cases to assess eligibility for the Young Adult Carer Service ·Broker support for families helping to reduce excessive and harmful caring, improve referral pathways and strengthen support networks ·Provide 1:1 support for young adult carers helping them achieve personal goals and coping skills ·Ensure young adult carers have transitional support across children's/adult services and advice and information on employment, training and educational opportunities, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future lives ·Maintain a caseload of young adult carers and close cases in a timely manner ·Maintain group sessions/meetings that engage young adult carers ·Full job description is available on request Skills required - Senior Carer Support Worker ·Strong communications skills ·A good understanding of the problems, needs and rights of unpaid carers ·Mentoring, coaching and supporting young people to facilitate personal, social and educational growth and encouraging greater social inclusion ·Be highly organised ·Assessing the needs of young people, planning and delivering activities reflecting identified needs ·Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance ·Awareness of Safeguarding and Child Protection issues, the Common Assessment Framework and safeguarding practice ·Supporting vulnerable young people and advocating for young people and or their families ·Commutable distance from York, North Yorkshire.
