Overview

A growing and impressive multi-disciplinary consultancy working on large projects across the UK is currently looking for an experienced Geotechnical consultant to join their environmental team in the Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle office. This successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and technical input to projects, including provision of proposals, project planning, management of resources (office or site based) and sub-contractors, completion of appropriate scheduling of laboratory testing, site monitoring, data assessment, reporting and financial performance. Candidate Requirements: A bachelors degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Geology); Ideally a secondary qualification i.e. MSc (e.g. Engineering Geology); Suitable experience of site investigation supervision; Previous experience in financial aspect of project management; A working knowledge in the interpretation of geological maps, other published data and site walkover information in assessing potential geo-hazards (e.g. coal mining risks, slope instability, soft ground); The ability to prepare logs compliant to BS5930:2015; Working knowledge of foundation solutions, including how to undertake bearing capacity and settlement analysis; Demonstration of an ability to prepare clear, concise and effective interpretative reports; Demonstration of a working knowledge of the requirements and guidance provided by appropriate British Standards and contract documents (e.g. BRE 365 soakaway design, BRE SD1, CIRIA C758, Specification for Highways Works, ICE Conditions of Contract etc., BS 6031 Earthworks); A full UK Driving Licence.
