Overview

Overall job purpose An exciting opportunity has arisen within this highly reputable Kent based firm for a Corporate Tax Manager, reporting directly to the Tax partner. The position involves working with and advising a large number of clients, mainly owner managed business’ from different sectors and of different sizes, ranging from a sole trader to a several hundred-million-pound turnover client. Main Duties Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service Advising companies of their tax liabilities Reviewing corporation tax computations for a portfolio of business clients Managing HMRC enquiries on behalf of clients Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations To contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of tax services to the client Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken Contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients through business development Skills and Experience AAT or ATT qualified Ideally CTA qualified Working in practice, and at least 3 years’ post CTA qualified relevant but varied tax experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong technical skills and keen to develop further An outgoing approach with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and with clients Experience of dealing confidently with a variety of business and personal clients Diligent, accurate and hands on approach to work Proven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statute Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards Project management skills to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines Client focus and commercial awareness Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
