Overview
A great opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Solicitor to join a top-tier international firm based in Leeds and specialise into corporate governance law. This would largely take you away from transactional work whilst offering access to interesting matters that are really technical and stimulating. As a consequence it would suit someone still looking for a stimulating role but one where the hours as not as inconsistent as those within mainstream corporate roles. Our client is a cutting-edge firm that really invest in their people and this role would offer you an incredible level of training and support, tailored to help you develop and understand this area of law. You will be surrounded by technically excellent solicitors who have a wealth of expertise you can learn from. They don't expect to recruit someone who undertakes this kind of role already, they are anticipating training someone and are therefore looking for a base of skills and training to support them in making the transition and as such it would help if you have trained within an environment where you've had exposure to substantial corporate clients. Upon joining the small collegiate governance and compliance team you would find that your clients and contacts are senior executives and board members who you will be advising on high profile matters such as market announcements, shareholder meetings, their board and governance structure and so much more. Their main clients are directors, general counsel, and company secretariats of large private, listed and AIM quoted companies. You would quickly be able to handle your own caseload with supervision and will also assist the team on more complex matters. In this role you will have a very high standard of work, frequent client contact which will be both face to face and over the phone, you will have the opportunity to build your name and relationships with leading UK team behind you. Ideally our client is looking for a candidate who has between NQ-3PQE years of experience and don't necessarily need any previous experience in advising clients in this area but a good grounding in company law is essential. Therefore, the completion of at least one seat in Corporate law during your training contract is required. Moreover, a strong academic background, a willingness to learn coupled with great drive and enthusiasm will help the successful candidate stand out. This really is an outstanding role, so if you are interested then why not apply?
