Overview

Our Client, Is looking for an Estates Officer with a Building M&E bias to join the Bristol team. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring a safe, appropriate and cost effective environment to patients and staff. You will manage contractors carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, and be professionally responsible for compliance such as asbestos, fire safety, environmental protection and building regulations. Client Details Our client are one of the largest NHS healthcare trusts in the South West and based in the Bristol city centre. Description The Estates Officer will: Be responsible for design, detailed specification, procurement, planning and implementation of all projects related to compliance and associated remedial works in the Trust Ensure the condition of the built environment of all inpatient wards and other clinical areas is safe for use and is kept in a good state of repair in accordance with HTM's and PLACE standards Undertake tendering and arrange access for various maintenance contracts ensuring full compliance with Trust Financial Instructions, HTM's and HBN's Provide professional and technical advice on all aspects of building related compliance and maintenance issues. Support the building/ civil engineering, safety, inspection, maintenance, investment and replacement programmes across the Trust, in the premises it owns, leases or operates Deputise for the Trust's authorising engineer with regards to asbestos management Profile The Estates Officer will: Have a degree or equivalent in building and construction or equivalent experience - Life cycle of M&E equipment. Have membership of appropriate professional body, in building/civil engineering IOSH, NEBOSH or similar certificates desired Have experience of managing budgets and delivering services within budgetary limits Have knowledge of NHS/DoH/ PLACE/ CQC standards and requirements Have detailed knowledge of other relevant current legislation/ guidance and associated statutory requirements.
