Overview

The Building Consultancy group provides Building Surveying, Lease Exit and Project Management Services to commercial property occupiers, developers and investors throughout the UK. The Group enjoys strong and productive relationships with a prestigious client base and with many other parts of the business, including our Agency, Investment, Valuation and Asset Management teams, and has been identified as an area for strategic growth. They work predominantly in the office, industrial, education and alternatives sectors. Over the last year the firm have begun to strengthen the Project Management offer in London. They now require an experienced Senior Surveyor/Associate-level project manager. About you The role is client facing and would suit someone who is well presented, has good written and verbal communication skills and is eager to learn and develop their career. The candidate will have the desire and ability to take personal "ownership and responsibility" for their projects, along with the commitment to fully contribute to the team’s growing market presence. The candidate must possess the ability to set up, manage and deliver multiple projects concurrently with limited supervision. Experience of the commercial real estate market is essential. The ability to provide cost advice and the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of MEP systems will also be required. The candidate will be highly motivated, hardworking and with a can-do attitude. Main responsibilities To take a leading role in the delivery of a high-profile portfolio of Category A and B fit outs (predominantly Category B), from inception through to completion including; Initial pitch delivery. The ability to set up multi-disciplinary teams and the development of client briefs including project programmes. Day to day project management of the design, procurement & and construction process. Compliance with our internal ISO 9001 procedures Risk management. Day to day 'Contract Administration’. To demonstrate the ability to deal with client representatives at a senior / board level To manage multiple projects at the same time To build a portfolio of key client relationships, both internally and externally, founded upon technical expertise, enthusiasm and outstanding communication skills. To assist in management of more junior members of the team, ensuring that they fulfil their potential. Key Attributes and qualifications MRICS or MCIOB Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in project management, ideally occupier facing Normal project management skills including the ability to draft succinct reports on their projects. Well organised, efficient, using initiative and working to tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with an eye for details, a commitment to excellence and developing strong client relationships. Possess a proactive approach to problem solving and ability to follow these through to a satisfactory conclusion. Proven IT skills, including high-level Microsoft Word and Excel competencies. Flexible, confident and self-motivated with a real desire to deliver excellent customer service. Positive attitude and willing to learn with and develop the team.
