Overview
Location: Solihull Salary: £35-42,000 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Do you want to make a difference? The purpose of this role is to work with the Directorate to agree and deliver the key financial priorities for the services over the medium term. You will ensure the financial resources available to the Directorate are effectively used and managed to secure the delivery of the Directorate Performance Plan. You will play a key role in the delivery of corporate financial requirements throughout the financial cycle - budget setting, forecasting and final accounts. Duties Provide medium and long term financial and activity modelling to support business decision making. Identify and analyse trends in spending and unit costs, benchmarking them against relevant comparators. Take nationally produced trend and comparison information and place it within a local context. Support the Commissioning functions in the completion of analysis to inform contract management, market position statements, market analysis and the development of future strategies and tenders. To complete all annual financial returns, ensuring that they are completed with a strong understanding of how the data will be used and following the latest statistical release guidance notes (excluding the statutory accounts). Produce briefings, analysis, and recommendations from the national benchmarking produced from those statistical returns. About you Ideally you will be a Qualified Accountant or have a degree in a relevant subject. Experience of working in a performance driven professional finance environment Understanding of Financial Procedures and the financial cycle Experience of complex, medium to long term financial modelling Experience of interpreting the outcomes of national or regional benchmarking exercises Send your CV now to be considered
