Overview
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic 7.5 tonne Driver to join their team & will be reporting to the Transport Manager. About the Role The main goal of the 7.5t Driver is to deliver a first class delivery service to their customers on behalf of the company. They operate in a 70 miles radius from base and cover areas such as Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Weymouth and Yeovil on a regular basis. Key Personal Attributes: The idea person should demonstrate these attributes A good communicator Excellent customer service skills Good attitude Ability to deal with problems in the appropriate manner Ability to work to tight deadlines and deal with stress Driven Inquisitive Ambitious Key Essentials: Candidate must have proven multi drop skills Hold a C1 7.5t licence Hold a valid digital tacho card Hold current CPC certificate, although for the right person, the company are prepared to pay for this for the successful candidate Manual handling skills are essential Candidate must have a good level of physical fitness, as this is a physically demanding role Key Duties & Responsibilities: The following represent the main duties you are expected to perform: You will work alongside the logistics team to pick the goods and load the vehicles ready for delivery that day Carry out daily driver checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and legal to drive before setting off Report any defects of the vehicle to the Transport Manager Deliver goods to customer’s premises in a timely manner and put the goods where they request Collect payment from the customers in the form of cash and cheques Offer a first class customer service experience to our customers and build good relationships with them Communicate with the sales team regarding the route you have been assigned to and discuss any issues that may arise You will be responsible for your own Health & Safety when at client’s premises and are expected to evaluate and manage each premises for any risks when delivering goods Remuneration Package: £20,500 - £22,000 p.a. with 28 days of holidays and pension. Bonuses will be offered subject to targets. Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm, 1 hour unpaid break and overtime at hourly rate. About the Company Our client has been supplying first class oriental ingredients to restaurants and caterers with an oriental supermarket for the last 30 years. Based in the South and the go to place for all your ingredients for oriental cooking. The company’s operation is split into two areas of sales, Oriental food catering establishments and home users through the supermarket. Based at the company’s main site at Princes Street this role offers a fantastic opportunity for a dependable, caring and passionate Driver to manage their logistic operations of the company. They have a current turnover of £8m and have expansion plans to take this to £12m in the next few years.
