Overview
National role, working from home with some need to be in London. Working across the UK Branch network on behalf of a leading independent broker, acting as their main contact with a global broking network of overseas independent insurance brokers The roles involves extensive networking with overseas member of the network through attendance of conferences and face to face meetings in order to promote the development and flow of international, reverse-flow, new business into the branch network Hands on involvement in development of global programmes and programme design is also a key element of the role. This role is aimed at coordinating activity between network members and local UK branches, ensuring that they are able to offer a viable insurance solution in any territory that their clients operate in and assist in the placement of any incoming enquiries for the networks client’s insurance in the UK. Key aspects of the role: - Managing flow of enquiries, incoming and outgoing and support placement of business. - Attend network conferences (European and Worldwide travel is a key requisite of the role) - Nurture key network member relationships through overseas visits and roadshows to new and established members to ensure understanding of capabilities - Expand the knowledge and understanding of global placement and reverse flow opportunities into the business. - Nurture, manage and support global insurer relationships and relationships with the network Exec team Key Role Accountabilities Build an understanding of the existing International portfolio of company schemes Build an understanding of the range services and products sold to be able to answer queries from clients Develop an understanding of the International markets and rules and regulations that must comply with Monitoring and tracking all enquiries to fulfilment Manage TOBAs between the business and network members Facilitate visits from network members whilst in the UK Manage and monitor income payments for introductions between the business and the network Maintain good ongoing contact with network members to encourage placement in to the business in the UK market Manage relationship with London market ensure placement for more complex risks Pre-conference project management and planning to ensure appointments with members are scheduled, marketing materials are available for delegates to discuss with members and seminars are scheduled or opportunities to present or join panel for network agenda items is maximised. Management of Uniworld tool is utilised to maximise prospecting opportunities with local branches Attend insurer training on a regular basis to ensure market knowledge levels are kept up to date Qualifications & Experience: DIP CII/ACII or progression towards Understanding of the UK & International insurance markets Previous role working in property and casualty insurance field Strong client relationship and networking experience Relationship building with Insurers/Providers, Clients Working in a changing market Overview/understanding of Employee Benefits insurance Foreign languages - useful but not essential Person Specification: Professional client/colleague focused approach Ability to network at all levels within an organisation Exceptional effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Project management and coordination experience Well organised and can respond well under pressure and meeting deadlines Working well as part of a team as well as being able to work for periods using own initiative Experienced in using Microsoft Office Programs and Policy Administration Systems A degree of marketing experience may be useful We are looking for an experienced insurance professional with: A good educational background Good IT literacy and navigational skills. Very comfortable working with Spreadsheets, with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organisational, time management and self-management skills. Excellent telephone communication skills Excellent product knowledge Flexible attitude, good team player with a highly developed sense of personal initiative.
