Overview
Mechanical Development Engineer I am working alongside a well know organisation within the power generation industry. We are looking to recruit a Development Engineer - Mechanical to join them on a permanent basis at their West Glasgow base. Your purpose is to design and manage the delivery of key aspects of their power generation in conjunction with their international supply base. Key responsibilities: Interpret customer requirements to deliver improved product design for portable power generation and electrical distribution products Ensure that our products are robust, cost effective and fit for purpose. Ensure all modifications and new designs are correctly documented and use Creo to create clear, concise and accurate models and design drawings Support the procurement and manufacturing teams with any technical issues associated with the supply and manufacture of modified systems. Undertake engineering design calculations using both hand calculation, design guides, FEA and CFD Maintain an awareness of developments in system components and controls to ensure that products remain up to date. Education/Qualifications A degree in Mechanical Engineering / Product Design/Industrial Design or similar Professional skills/experience Good practical mechanical knowledge Good knowledge of mechanical components and systems (i.e. pumps, engines, cooling systems, support structures, generators, lifting systems) and their specification Experience of welded fabrication design Experience of commissioning plant Competent Creo modelling and design experience.
