Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems at our site in Scotstoun. As a Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems, you will be participating in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need. This role will provide you with the opportunity to shape the design of the Australian version of the Global Combat Ship. You may have the opportunity to travel, including to Australia. This is an excellent environment from which to further develop your engineering skills. Your main responsibilities as a Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems will involve: Under the guidance of more Senior Engineer's design and deliver, the heating ventilation and air Conditioning (HVAC) systems design for areas of the ship undergoing change Participate in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need Carrying out relatively complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, preparation of reports with suggesting recommendations Preparing specifications, developing designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are met Acting as a point of contact with customers and/or suppliers on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness of priorities and objectives Your skills and qualifications as a Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems: Experience integrating complex systems into platforms Experience in a manufacturing, construction and/or design environment Competent at technical writing Experience in use of MS Office software suite and intermediate or better MS Excel skills Experience in HVAC system design Experience using AutoCad or 3-d modelling software packages preferred What we're looking for in you: You will be a confident candidate with good communication skills.
