Senior Quantity Surveyor
Overview
THE ROLE I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a go-ahead firm of PQS in Birmingham to work on a range of high value iconic buildings across the Midlands. You will have the opportunity of working on a range of projects for commercial, residential and other properties. THE COMPANY My client is a large intenational firm of construction consultants. THE CANDIDATE You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor ideally MRICS qualified with Degree, MSc or similar. You will need experience of all pre and post contract work from feasibility studies, writing procurement reports, estimating, cost planning, tendering and procuring including managing the pre-qualification stage. You will deal with post contract cost variances and the change control processes. You will do monthly post contract cost reports and present to the client. You will have input into value engineering. You will negotiate and agree final accounts. You must be able to run your own projects from inception to completion. Experience of private sector projects preferred. You should have a stable work record and you will need to have been working for a firm of private practice quantity surveyors or multi discipline consultants to have the right experience although someone from a main contractors with pre and post contract QS experience may be considered. Salary is from £45000 to £65000 or more plus range of benefits.
