Overview
A leading Civil Engineering contractor are actively seeking a Senior Estimator for a permanent position near Glasgow. Our client: The client is a leading UK business operating primarily within construction and infrastructure schemes; With a responsible sustainability strategy, they invest significant time and effort to ensure safe working environments with minimal environmental impact; Projects range from Car parks, Bridges, Roads and Hydroschemes to name a few, ranging up to £5m; Due to on-going and future pending contracts, this is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the Scotland's largest contractors and get exposure to interesting and prestigious projects. What you’ll be doing: You will be working with a small existing team in this permanent role based in near Glasgow pricing civil engineering projects up to £5m from 1st principle; Manage the tender from allocation to award including carrying out take offs and tender review meetings; Prepare technical queries and send to the Client to seek clarification. What you need to be successful: Ideally, experience working as a sub or site agent before moving across to estimating in a civil engineering contractor; At least 5 years experience in estimating for a civil engineering contractor; Excellent team work and team player qualities; Strong customer focus with commercial awareness.
