Overview
We are looking for a carer to provide constant observation and manual handling for a male with severe physical disabilities. The client uses a BIPAP ventilator and a PEG feeding tube. These will be connected prior to your arrival. No previous experience of these machines is required as training will be provided. The client has an electric, profiling bed with a sliding sheet system to aid easy repositioning. Once successful, applicants will have to apply for an enhanced DBS Certificate (paid for by client) Applicant should be: Reliable Have own transport Ideally, but not necessarily, have previous care experience. Non-smoker preferred Hours 11.30pm - 7.30am. Nights negotiable. Holidays: 28 days pa which includes public holidays (pro rata) Duties include: Repositioning Providing drinks Keeping a care record Ensuring that the ventilator and PEG tubes remain untangled. In between these duties there is ample opportunity to entertain yourself using the WiFi whilst sitting in an armchair with a table and small light. This is not a live-in role.
