Overview

Job Description

Are you looking for part-time night shift work that will fit with your other commitments? Could you support adults with a learning disability, helping them get a good night's sleep? You'll be a Support Worker working four nine-hour night shifts a week (36 hours a week), taking your turn on a seven-night rota with other night staff. You'll be supporting seven people with learning disabilities or autism. Their needs vary significantly: some are very independent, some have an additional mental health diagnosis or dementia. Your waking nights will be busy, making sure everyone has the physical support or emotional reassurance they need, helping the gentlemen with dementia back to bed if they wake, in order to maintain a healthy body clock. You'll need to keep written records, and complete some cleaning tasks. We'll give you all the training and coaching you will need, and you'll be supported by a manager from our on-call system for use in emergencies. About us MacIntyre is an award-winning national charity supporting over 1,500 people with learning disabilities and/or autism. We celebrate everyone's unique gifts, talents and contributions. Using Positive Behaviour Support training and strategies, we see people first, not their disabilities. What we need from you You don't need experience, as we provide a full induction and free training programme.
