Our client is the leading 100% green energy company in the UK, offering energy at reduced prices and guaranteeing that all their energy is through renewable means. Their mission is to reduce the carbon footprint and in doing so, help the environment. The business, which is PE backed and pre IPO, is seeking an International Legal Counsel to take responsibility for legal matters within France, Spain and some of the USA. Reporting into the Head of Legal and based in London, you will be expected to advise on a broad range of commercial and corporate matters, including the occasional contentious and regulatory matter. Your main responsibilities will include, amongst others: To advise on the roll out of products across the European and international jurisdictions which will incorporate legal advice on data protection, compliance, a variety of service contracts, wholesale agreements, local regulatory matters and customer facing issues PR and corporate matters including JVs and M&A work and company law, including setting up new business entities Regulatory compliance to local standards, using external law firms Candidates applying for this position should possess the following attributes: Ideally a UK qualified solicitor with at least 4 years' PQE and MUST be fluent in French or Spanish An absolute can do attitude and willing to turn their legal attention to a variety of matters Broad corporate and commercial skills including setting up companies; advising on a broad range of commercial agreements including energy purchasing, wholesale agreements, sales agreements; advising on GDPR and local compliance and consumer protection Experience of working in a regulated industry would be extremely advantageous - this could be in financial services or any other regulated sector Able to work in a fast paced, autonomous and dynamic business This company is a start up - don't expect luxurious 5 offices, expect free coffee with oat milk, free breakfast, colourful offices with Post-Its on the walls and a highly collegiate environment This is an exceptional position for someone who wants to be on a carbon free journey with a growing company, which offers significant career prospects, shares within the company and a strong financial package.
