Job Title: Transport Officer Location: Aylesbury Salary: £13.83 Contract Type: Temp /Full time An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Officer based in Aylesbury to join an expanding company. As a Transport Officer will include: To allocate all clients referred to transport. Plan routes and deliver contract efficiency to obtain best value for the authority both in the immediate and long term. Preparation and delivery of tenders and contract award through a Dynamic Procurement System to meet the changing demand of the service. Ensure quality of service to the end-user in line with contract conditions and performance standards Maintain good communications. Act as point of contact for; parents / clients / establishments / suppliers / BCC staff on associated home-school / adult social care transport operations. Recording and Maintaining contract & client details on databases Performance manage individual suppliers within the set Ts & Cs framework against each contract An ideal Transport Officer will hold the following skills and experiences: Plan and organise work both unscheduled and scheduled to ensure effective delivery of the service meeting BCC statutory requirements. Ensure work is completed within given timescales and standards. Decisions on both individual contract efficiency and total contract efficiency across the designated area of responsibility, to obtain best value for the authority both in the immediate and long term. Preparation and delivery of tenders and contract award through a Dynamic Procurement System to meet the changing demand of the service. Assess and review need for services to meet the demand of the client service areas. Ensure all required contract records and information are maintained correctly. Monitor, review and manage the financial change on existing service contracts. Manage all contracted transport services within area of responsibility. Respond to queries / complaints. Resolve problems where possible / appropriate or escalate as necessary. Apply contracted non-compliance procedures leading to the termination of service. Maintain and improve operational efficiency of the service. Manage the communication between all stakeholders and the transport providers to ensure the effective delivery of the services. as necessary; this includes service department; families / carers; schools. Carry out all duties with an awareness and understanding of the Safeguarding requirements within the area of responsibility. understand the individual transport needs of clients with special needs to ensure that the most appropriate and economic transport is procured and delivered. Assess the needs of an individual SEN pupil as advised by the SEN team and the transport assessment officer, to ensure that the transport providers meets their needs and the needs of other pupils travelling on the vehicle whilst providing the best value contracts to BCC education budget.
