THE JOB A global investment bank are looking for a qualified accountant to act as a lead analyst to work on application configuration to ensure FX and FX Options can be accurately accounted within the Oracle Financial Accounting Hub and Oracle General Ledger system in a 6 month project (PAYE). You will be actively involved in configuring software to process trading revenue for entities within the group. Ideally this person will be Japanese speaking. The Role Specifically your responsibilities will include: Work closely with the technical development team and review technical design, provide guidance around application requirements and take ownership to ensure data is captured, processed and reported accurately and in a timely manner Work with Business Analysts to ensure the solution caters for multiple accounting standards, including UK-GAAP, IFRS Develop the accounting event model Oracle Financial Accounting Hub and configure the Financial Accounting Hub Ensure trade events are captured and processed accurately and interpreted by the trade Subledger and general ledger Configure the General Ledger chart of accounts, calendars, periods, security rules, cross validation rules etc… Review the trade booking, processing, and outbound trade workflow within the upstream trading applications Review end of day accounting processes covering P&L and B/S and ensure month-end & year-end processing and reporting requirements are met Work with the project team and develop a test strategy, test plans and potentially test scripts Ensure defects are tracked and managed, with the appropriate team assigned any defects identified during the test phases Work in a co-ordinated manner around go-live activities, ensuring services are transitioned into the live production environment in a manner which is compliant with technology policy and non-disruptive to the business Work with end users or the software vendor, raising tickets with any product defects YOU To be considered for this job, you will have the following experience: A Qualified Accountant and understand the needs of a finance function (fin reporting disclosures, month ed, year end PnL, adjustment Japanese speaking (ideally) Have extensive experience working with Oracle Financial Accounting Hub and Oracle General ledger Available within 4 weeks to start Have experience with JIRA defect management Pay great attention to detail and be client driven with a focus on delivery and milestones · Understand the needs of a Finance organization and be comfortable around financial reporting disclosures, month-end processes, year-end P&L accounting, financial adjustments etc… This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89654201
