Overview
I am currently working in partnership with a private equity-backed FinTech company based in the Kent area to recruit a Finance Team Leader. My client was ranked the fastest-growing company in Europe by the Financial Times in March last year, having grown from 5 to circa 300 employees over the past 6 years. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth running of Finance Operations with a focus on running the accounting functions of the business. Key Responsibilities: Managing a team of Finance Operations Assistants (allocating tasks, performance appraisals, etc.). Reviewing & approving purchase ledger invoices, expense claims, and journals prepared by Finance Operations Assistants. Preparing monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations. Be first approver for payments submitted by team members. Ad-hoc reporting and analysis for management. Applicants will need to have a good understanding of standard finance processes and will be given the opportunity to become involved in ad hoc accounting work and projects, with the opportunity of support to achieve a professional accountancy qualification. The successful candidate will have 1-2 years' experience within a similar role (preferably in financial services), strong systems skills including MS Office & Excel (intermediate) and will ideally be in the early stages of AAT/ACCA/CIMA accounting qualification.
