Finance Officer opportunity near Dumfries Your new company A rapidly expanding SME business, boasting a global customer base and turnover of £11.m. With sustained growth built on exceptional customer service and high quality products, our client now has the need for a Finance Officer to support the team and Finance Director. Your new role This newly created role, will see you working as part of a small, established finance team, reporting to and working closely with the Finance Director. Key responsibilities will include: supporting the organisation in assisting in the production of monthly management accounts and monthly journals; reconciliation of control accounts; budgeting; and stock control and reporting. You will prepare VAT and reports for HMRC; monitor KPI's and ensure financial procedures, systems and records are maintained. Additionally, you'll provide support and assistance for internal and external audits, and you'll provide key support with day to day processing of purchase invoices, customer payments, credit control and bank reconciliations. What you'll need to succeed With proven accountancy skills, you'll have experience in a similar role, and will have hands-on management accounting skills as well as strong transactional accounting capabilities. Working within a small team, you'll have the ability to work flexibly and use your initiative to plan and prioritise your workload accordingly. You'll have excellent IT skills, particularly strong Excel skills and experience of NAV Dynamics would prove advantageous. With meticulous attention to detail, you'll take a pro-active and positive approach to your work. What you'll get in return This is a full time permanent opportunity. 40 hours per week - 9 to 5:30 Monday to Friday. Salary up to £30,000 dependent on skills, experience and qualifications. 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and additional shutdown between Christmas and New Year. Auto-enrolment pension scheme.
