Various 1:1 support need thoroughout the week from 3 hours – 7 hours a day over 7 days a week An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to join Milestones Trust. We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation with a 34 year history of offering person-centred support to vulnerable people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. As a Personal Assistant you will be working within our Supported Living Services, with a basic of £8.95 per hour excellent benefits , providing support to tenants with their daily living skills, enabling each individual to live the life that they choose. Within this role, you will be supporting adults with Learning Disabilities (between the age of 18 and 80) who have different support needs, f rom gaining meaningful employment/voluntary positions, to building a social life, to developing independent skills like cooking, budgeting, maintaining good physical and mental health to accessing the community, pursuing their various interests and hobbies. THE ROLE: As a Personal Assistant your responsibilities will include: To encourage and enable service users to make day-to-day choices and major life decisions, signposting as appropriate, and to develop a positive self-image and maintain good health. To support service users to develop relationships to maintain contact with family and friends. To provide service users with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and to develop social and life skills. use person-centered approaches to support each individual to achieve their goals as set out in their support plans. To be able to keep calm in a busy environment, responding to the needs of the tenants in a well led, responsive, safe, caring and effective way. YOU: The successful Personal Assistantwill: Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, service users and a range of stakeholders. Be computer literate and flexible to meet service needs. Be able to work in a very person-centred manner. Have experience in Supported Living or Supported housing settings would be advantageous but is not compulsory.
