Full and Part Time Hours Considered – to include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to join our Supported Living Services at Milestones Trust. We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation with a 34 year history of offering person-centred support to vulnerable people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. Based at Bratchel Court in Hanham, with a basic of £8.95 per hour excellent benefits, you will be responsible for encouraging and supporting service users to define and develop their chosen lifestyles through person centred care in our residential services. WHY APPLY? Bratchel Court is a busy supported living scheme, providing support to 4 individuals with a learning disability. The people we support live in their own flats and our team may offer individual, person centred support with household tasks, shopping, cooking, personal care and/or tenancy issues. Part of your job will include researching and signposting to places or services that the individuals may be interested in going and generally helping the individuals to live a fulfilling life. THE ROLE: As a Personal Assistant, your responsibilities will include: To encourage and enable service users to make day-to-day choices and major life decisions, signposting as appropriate, and to develop a positive self-image and maintain good health. To support service users to develop relationships to maintain contact with family and friends. To provide service users with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and to develop social and life skills.
