Overview

Nottingham City Council are seeking to recruit 2x Cisco Network engineers to join the Network Services team. One post is permanent and the other is available on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. Main duties: Network project work as directed by Senior Cisco Network Engineers and Network Manager e.g. upgrading DC switches, upgrading WAN links to remote sites, upgrading Firewalls, CCTV network etc etc. Supporting the Cisco voice (VoIP) and Cisco data (wired and wireless) infrastructure on a daily basis. Working alongside other colleagues in the wider IT Department e.g. Project/Change Managers and Storage/Server specialists to deliver key projects. Essential skills and experience: Cisco switching, routing (OSPF), VRFs, Cisco Call Manager VoIP (CUCM 12.0), Cisco Wireless Controllers (WLCs), Cisco security (ASAs, Firepower) and Cisco Data Centre technologies (Nexus 7000, 5000, 2000). Nexus 9000 ACI would be an added advantage. Enterprise network experience i.e. Data Centre with multiple sites Track record of working with business customers and 3rd Parties to deliver network projects Qualifications : Applicants must have a minimum of Cisco certification at the CCNA Routing and Switching level with Enterprise experience. Salary Permanent Post : Salary £37,849 rising to £39,782 after the first year following successful completion of a probation period. 12 Month Fixed Term Contract : Salary £42,683 Benefits: 25 Days Annual Leave Bank Holidays (32 after 5 years’ service).
