Carpenter opportunity at HMP Swansea, full time Mon-Fri, £13.45 per hour, opportunity to go permanent Your new company HMP Swansea is a category B prison for adult males. Our exclusive relationship with HM Prison Service makes us the sole provider of security and support operatives within the prisons. Hays is seeking to recruit a carpenter to join the strong team of works and maintenance at HMP Swansea. As part of the works department, you will be responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance. Your new role As the carpenter, you will be expected to respond to any vandalism inflicted on the prisons' property. This includes the repairing of desks, beds, windows, stairs, signposts and doors. You will also be expected to work alongside other trades within the team in order to work efficiently for any and all repairs. You will receive full key and radio training for the role of a carpenter. What you'll need to succeed You must have a Level 3 NVQ in carpentry and joinery to be eligible for this role. Additionally, several years of experience working as a carpenter is ideal if you are to be successful.
