Senior Storage Engineer Permanent Birmingham/ Remote Seeking a skilled Senior Storage Engineer with excellent communication skills to join a progressive Managed Service Provider to handle all monitoring, data protection back-up, and configure storage and associated hardware. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IBM storage Arrays and end-to-end knowledge in racking and stacking the IBM Storwize Hardware . This role is based in Birmingham however offers flexible working/ remote work options. Required Experience: Good level of operational exposure to 1 or more storage systems that are not Server based Understanding of Raid arrays and Distributed Raid arrays Understanding of Clustered storage systems and High Availability Storage infrastructure. Understanding of Network Topologies and Switches / Routers and SAN Switches including iSCSI, FCIP and Fibre Channel . Degree of 'HANDS on Experience' with IBM Storage Arrays and Any of the Below, HP / EMC / DELL Have 'END to End Knowledge' in Racking and Stacking the IBM Storwize Hardware . Have installed and configured a V7000 / SVC / FS IBM Storwize array or Equivalent. Understanding and Previous Hands on experience with setting up 'Storage Layer Replications' using IBM Global Mirror Remote copy / Flash copy technologies. Basic Skills: Able to use GUI based Storage and Management tools to administer Storage arrays. Be able to Create Storage Pools/ Member Drives / LUNs etc. Understanding Storage reporting tools such as IBM Spectrum Control / Tivoli etc or equivalent products.
