What you'll be doing In this role, you will support the Director of Risk Assurance in coordinating the preparation of a Group-wide second line assurance plan. You will also help to oversee the provision of second line assurance activity conducted by Group Risk and the Market Unit (MU) risk functions, supporting the MUs in the preparation of their plans. What's a typical day? In this role there are 3 main strands of focus. Second Line Assurance, Group Functions and Operations Risks. Second Line Assurance Support the Director of Risk Assurance in ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of the Assurance Framework with regard to the conduct of second line of defence assurance activities Support the coordination of an annual global assurance plan with regard to assurance activities to be conducted by Group Risk, MU Risk functions and Clinical Governance teams; Collate 2LOD risk assurance reports from different MU and BU teams. Support the Director of Risk Assurance to assess and report on the adequacy of Risk management practices across Bupa's businesses and functions; Coordinate regular discussions the MU Risk teams including the planning and coordination of regular Risk Assurance Community calls. Support the businesses and functions in the design and execution of appropriate assurance activities; Support the preparation of 2LOD Risk Assurance reports to the relevant committees as required. Group Functions Challenge and Support Support the Director of Risk Assurance and Senior Risk Manager in working with the Group Function leadership team to implement the Risk Management Framework. Support the Director of Risk Assurance and Senior Risk Manager in coordinating activities to embed Enterprise policies within Group Functions, liaising with policy owners to ensure that appropriate tools are provided and that the scheduling of events, communications and tasks delivers a positive experience for Group Function leaders and people. Support the Director of Risk Assurance and Senior Risk Manager in recording, tracking and resolving incidents including working with the first line to assist in the root cause analysis of incidents. Coordinate monthly incidents review meetings. Assist in the preparation of management information and reports on risks, emerging risks, risk appetites, KRIs (key risk indicators) and incidents for Group Functions as a whole. Support the completion of internal controls assessments by 1st line functions. Operations Risk Support engagement with the relevant Global Functions Heads and senior management to establish and maintain frameworks within which areas of Operations Risk are identified, assessed, mitigated and reported including the maintenance of appropriate Risk Appetite Statements. Work with the businesses and functions in the design and maintenance of appropriate tools to support effective management of Operations Risk and improve the ability to respond and recover in the event of an incident. Support 1LOD on incident management and ensure root cause analysis is undertaken and remedial actions implemented. Who we're looking for? The ideal person will be proactive, self-motivated, willing to use their initiative and able to think independently. They will be experienced in the preparation of data and the analysis of key trends, in addition to producing high quality reports in multiple formats. Linked to this they should be familiar with using excel/spreadsheets for data management. They will have good interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to maintain a variety of relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels, including up to the Bupa Executive Team.
