The role is within the Permanent Joint Operating Bases (PJOBs) and Far East HQ, part of the DIO Regional Delivery Overseas team based at RAF Wyton. This is a unique opportunity to work in high tempo environments, delivering professional and effective contract services and support to our diverse customer teams across overseas locations. The DIO has the responsibility for the management of property, infrastructure and related services to ensure strategic management of the Defence Estate as a whole, optimising investment and, critically supporting military capability to the best effect. The post advertised is for 37 hours net. Job description Reporting to the Permanent Joint Operating Bases (PJOBs) & Far East (FE) Senior Compliance Manager, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for supporting team compliance & adherence with all agreed DIO, contracted, statutory and mandatory standards, processes and operating procedures. This is a wide ranging and challenging role with responsibility for interpreting area and customer operational priorities and requirements in order to support the development of the delivery programme, providing and seeking professional advice and assurance within qualification and experience. The role requires someone who is extremely organised, efficient and dynamic; someone who writes and briefs very effectively and can work under pressure. DIO Regional Delivery Overseas’ Region (PJOBs & Far East) manages the delivery of the DIO contracted, and where appropriate in-house, facilities management and associated services to military users within the Overseas region. This includes contract management and key relationship management with senior users, key suppliers and other elements of DIO, in particular Major Programmes and Projects (MPP) and DIO Strategic Compliance Committee Working Groups to deliver the DIO Outputs to support Military Capability). Post Locations This post will be based at RAF Wyton, Cambridgeshire. However, DIO’s Smarter Ways of Working mean that remote/home working will be considered in accordance with the needs of the business and those of the successful applicant. Responsibilities • Manage and assure ISP compliance performance and support the delivery of the Compliance Inspections programme to ensure that legislative, MOD & DIO statutory and mandatory requirements are being met and are being applied in a coherent manner across the PJOB estate. • Manage compliance coherence across the PJOBs estate in collaboration with the ISP and ensure linkage with the Strategic Compliance Working Groups in order that continuous improvement and excellence in service is experienced by the end user. • Formulate strategies to continually improve and effectively manage and mitigate key compliance risks and issues across the estate. • Provide subject matter expertise appropriate to discipline to the area delivery teams in support of technical assurance of higher value works • Provide specific technical advice and support as requested to the area delivery, assurance and commercial teams, including specialist training, briefings and attendance & participation at contractual meetings • Ensure PPM task schedules are reviewed regularly for currency and coherence and drive change initiatives including linkage with future procurement. • Engage with the customer to understand their operational priorities, and requirements in order to support the development of the delivery programme Essential experience and knowledge • Knowledge and experience of delivering Estates works and managing a safe & compliant estate. • A robust appreciation of facility management processes, delivery and procedures. • A detailed understanding of statutory and mandatory compliance principles Desirable experience • Membership of a relevant industry institution or profession. • Experience of working in a military environment • Full & valid driving licence Travel Requirements Duty visits to Overseas locations will be required on a regular basis. The PJOBs (Permanent Joint Overseas Bases) and Far East estate includes the Falkland Islands, Ascension Island, Gibraltar, Cyprus, Singapore, Nepal, and Brunei.
