Overview Position Summary: Develops, implements and manages strategic sourcing and vendor relationship strategies for materials and subcontract services. Supervises a team of buyers to implement those strategies Responsibilities * Manages the selection, acquisition and monitoring of material and subcontract services suppliers for the enterprise region. * Identify new procurement opportunities. * Manage new product procurement and resourcing projects. * Works closely with business units to understand their needs and serves as the point of contact for all purchases, execution and problems. * Negotiates blanket purchase agreements. * Qualifies vendors and maintains the approved vendor database and tracking system. * Provide ethical and professional procurement services ensuring availability of adequate materials and subcontract services pipeline for timely fulfillment of internal and external customer requirements. * Establishes standards and procedures for evaluating subcontract services suppliers. * Serves as the primary interface between the supplier and the enterprise. * Maintains contact with critical material and subcontract services suppliers to manage the status and quality of orders and the progress toward contractual commitments. * Advocate for alternative methods and sources of supply to ensure optimum costs, high quality, premium service and current technology. * Continually seeks optimal value in price and service from suppliers. * Identify opportunities to improve the financial performance of the business. * Provide input in the development and implementation of both the short term and long term strategic sourcing plan. * Additional duties as assigned Qualifications * Able to work independently as well as part of a team environment. * Able to retrieve information and conduct research related to project completion and job responsibilities. * Able to think analytically. * Capable of establishing priorities and balancing multiple projects simultaneously. * Encompasses project management skills from project start to finish. * Performs work under minimal supervision. * Handles complex issues and problems. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Organized and detail-oriented. * Able to build collaborative relationships. * Able to read, write and interpret various correspondence, memos and instructions. * Understanding of basic mathematical concepts, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. * Proficient in basic to intermediate computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and work experience * 5 years of experience in purchasing, operations or service management. * Ability to travel 50% of the time
