Overview
Job Title: Dispatch Supervisor Reporting to: Dispatch Manager Work Location: Surrey House, Feltham Job Summary of Dispatch Supervisor To lead, organise, motivate and inspire a team to achieve clearly identified goals and objectives with regard to the dispatch function of the warehouse operation. To implement changes that continually improve delivery to our Customers Key Responsibilities of Dispatch Supervisor Supervision of warehouse personnel, to ensure the smooth running of the order dispatch operation and to achieve specific, measurable, agreed and realistic targets. To ensure that productivity levels and efficiencies in the warehouse operations are achieved to the optimum and to achieve key results and contribute toward the continuous improvement of key result areas. To motivate and inspire the team by developing team spirit and potential in order to maximise personal/team performance. Maintain a safe working environment and maintain equipment to the relevant safety standards. Ensure the appropriate communication to all levels on Health and Safety issues. Support all activities relating to the efficiency of the site i.e Lean Project, Total Quality improvement meetings. To contribute to the management of operational costs within all agreed budgets for the relevant cost centres. Especially the control of absence within your team. To implement the Company’s policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements and best practice for all matters relating to employee relations. Service delivery To facilitate the 100% on time in full processing of dispatch notes on an ongoing basis. Training and Development Identify and assist in areas of recruitment, training and development of warehouse personnel. Take ownership of supporting and ensuring a multi-tasked workforce. Ensure performance reviews are carried out on a timely basis within your own team. Health and Safety To take owner ship of the company Health and safety policy and enforce it at all times. Ensure all machinery on site is only used by trained personnel Minimise where possible the potential of accidents occurring by undertaking regular risk assessments in different areas. Convey information clearly and accurately to internal and external customers Both in written and oral form i.e. by team briefs. Communicate to staff and colleagues using the best methods available at all times Flexibility Deputise for Peers /Managers as and when requested. To cover various shifts as dictated by operational needs Key Requirement: To process high volume order dispatches within a timely manner To implement best practice in all warehousing activities. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience : Must have good knowledge of warehouse operations and techniques Supervision and leadership of people; interpersonal and communication skills; team player; pc literate Experience at supervisory level within a warehouse/operational environment. Maintain a high level of quality & accuracy with regard to order dispatch. Ensure that Quality Targets are achieved
