Transport Planner - 4 month contract - Containers Please note this is a 4 month contract that will be reviewed monthly. The Branch Manager will consider a permanent contract if the business demands it and the individual is the right fit during this period. Transport Planner required for a leading UK Container Freight company based in Leeds. As an experienced Transport Planner you will have sound geographical knowledge and experience planning Containers and dealing with Transport to and from Ports. Sound geographical knowledge and experience of routing vehicles is essential. Container Haulage experience ESSENTIAL Package: (Pro-rata) £25K - £29K, Company bonus 28 days holiday, Pension, Free Parking The Role: Manage the fleet and allocated budget for the proposed order Report to the Transport Manager the absence from work of drivers Direct drivers for loading and unloading of consignments, goods and means of transport Respect the law on road traffic and the traffic of goods Communicating with drivers, subcontractors, managers & key personnel Negotiating contracts to reduce costs and achieve maximum efficiency. Providing accurate routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated. Accurately calculating supply costs in relation to each movement or transaction. Obtaining quotes for transportation and also making cost comparisons. Establish relationships with clients in pursuit of sustainable business relationships Ensuring compliance with all current legislation and regulation You must have experienced in the following : Container Transport UK Distribution. Road haulage industry. Driving regulations for HGV , Working Time Directive, Driving Hours etc. Experience of Route Planning & Scheduling Experience of Transport Management systems Excellent Communication Skills WR Transport & Logistics are the 1 recruitment partner for transport jobs and logistics jobs.
