Overview
Morgan Hunt are proud to be supporting a high profile Central Government body, based in Westminster who are looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Officer. This role is initially for a 6 month interim period, with the possibility for extension beyond this date. They are based in the heart of Westminster, and the body plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of Government. The body is going through an interesting period of change, and you will be part of a new team to establish effective accounts payable processes. The role: Timely and accurate payment of supplier invoices, claims and reimbursements. This includes management and administration of delivery and credit notes. Sorting of the section's post including scanning of invoices and maintenance of the filing and archiving system. Contribute to the development of financial systems and process. Verification and maintenance of supplier and customer records. Produce manual payments such as CHAPS and foreign currency. Assist with annual statutory returns and monthly reconciliation processes. Respond to verbal and written queries from suppliers and customers. Provide contingency cover for other sections in Financial Services as required to support the needs of the team. The person: Experience of analysing financial information and invoice payment processes. Good numeracy skills. Strong organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise high volumes of work accurately. Experience of working with accountancy packages or finance systems.
