Overview

Brook Street are recruiting for an Administrative Officer on behalf of their esteemed Public Sector Client in Edinburgh. Monday - Friday 30 hours per week £8.36 rising to £10.84 after 12 weeks. This vacancy is looking to start in early March, subject to compliance. The role involves the handling of the administrative arrangements for public inquiries, driver conduct hearings and impounding hearings and implementing the TC's decisions, directions and instructions; the provision of all relevant papers to appellant bodies; the drafting of submissions on regulatory casework; the issue of warning letters; and ensuring the correct implementation and processing of in-office revocation cases. Main Duties include: To compile and draft accurate and full submissions to the Traffic Commissioner recommending a course of action and processing the cases as determined Responding to requests from Stakeholders Adhering to Administrative tasks including: a) Taking careful account of the data protection legislation and ensuring that there is no unauthorised distribution or publication of personal or sensitive data; b) Ensuring a comprehensive and accurate electronic (and where appropriate paper) record exists for all cases; c) To ensure that any delegated authority granted by the Traffic Commissioner is strictly adhered to; d) Dealing with telephone and written enquiries in a positive manner taking into account the data protection legislation, delegated authority and the statutory guidance and directions; e) Adopting a constructive approach to the OTC, in particular, providing assistance to colleagues and responding to management instructions. Essential Criteria " Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to draft complex submissions and letters within a legislative framework " Excellent organisational and administrative skills with a proven ability to identify priorities based on risk factor " Good knowledge of IT systems, particularly Word, Excel and email with associated keyboard skills " Ability to analyse case work and create complex submissions within a legislative framework All applicants must be able to provide 3 years referencing and undergo a basic disclosure security clearance.
