Overview
We are looking for a trainee appliance engineer living in or near the Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire areas who we will train on all makes and types of domestic and commercial appliances. Candidates must have some experience in a mechanical or electrical background. We are offering a starting salary of £18,000 pa with salary expectations of £25,000 to £30,000 plus bonus in the first 2 years after training. Full training will be given along with uniform, tools and PPE equipment. The position also includes a company estate car fitted with sat-nav, and air con. You will also be given a company smart phone and fuel card plus expense account. Training involves a 1 week course at our head office learning the basics of appliance repairs, health and safety, customer service skills etc. You will then attend calls for onsite training with an experienced engineer. You will then be allocated 3 calls a day to attend whilst you build up you experience and slowly this will be increased to the contracted 7 calls a day. Attaining the 7 calls a day will depend on how quickly you learn your skills and the debt of effort you put in. The working week is Monday to Friday and working some Saturday's when requested as paid overtime. You will also need to sign a training bond agreement. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a mechanical, electrical or refrigeration background wanting to change their career path and looking to join a rapidly expanding company. Duties include, but are not limited to: · Making Visits to customers’ homes & businesses to carry out scheduled repairs · Installation of new appliances in customers’ homes · Able to repair domestic and commercial appliances · Testing & Inspecting Work · Agreeing to 7 calls a day schedule · Experience on gas, electro/mechanical or refrigeration would be an advantage Essential Requirements: · Full clean driving licence .Speak fluent English · Must have excellent customer care and communication experience and skills · Relevant Qualifications (Or working towards them) · Hard working · Smart appearance · Good timekeeper · Be well organised · Ability to multitask · Smart in appearance · Positive attitude · Able to work long hours .Able to drive long distances This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89644923
