Overview
A fantastic opportunity has come up for a Trainee Accountant for our client in Guildford. This role would be suitable for a school leaver or graduate. Duties will include: Monthly and quarterly book-keeping using various accounting software, from incomplete and complete records Prepare monthly / quarterly VAT returns Monthly and quarterly reconciliation of sales and purchase ledger using various accounting software Assist in the preparation of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Assist in the preparation of corporation tax returns Assist in the preparation of personal and partnership tax returns Drafting client’s letters/emails Assisting meetings with clients when required Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients Maintain high standards of customer service at all times Requirements: Either AAT part qualified or university degree in accounting/business/finance Working experience in a practice or industry within the finance department is an advantage but not essential Confident and able to communicate effectively Strong academic who is self-motivated and driven Ability to work to tight deadlines Strong written and verbal skills Computer literate on Word, Excel and Outlook Keen to learn and develop a career in accounting Be able to work in a team and on their own Knowledge of Sage, Xero and/or QuickBooks is advantageous but not essential If you have not been contacted within 5 working days, then unfortunately on this occasion your CV has not been shortlisted.
