Overview

This is a specialist food distribution business, operation via wholesale and retail channels and supply product on a national basis. It has a distribution centre based in Staffs plus some smaller regional operations. The company is long-established, financially stable and is working in a secure market with good levels of demand for its products. Recent events have necessitated the need for a change in its transport operation, particularly in relation to reallocation of routes, sub-contractors etc. In this role you will manage all elements of the transport operation, including route planning, maintenance, driver management, safety & compliance, sub-contractors, etc. The company operates a mixed fleet with around 50 vehicles. It is critical that you hold a full CPC. There is plenty of opportunity for development and change within the operation, and you will be expected to lead a series of efficiency programmes. The ability to demonstrate that have led effective improvements projects is important. Recruiting a similar role?
