Overview
We're looking for a candidate to this position in an exciting company. Oversee all areas of General Insurance client engagements involving statistical modelling (GLM’s) as well as machine learning and artificial intelligence. Design and manage all aspects of engagements involving conventional actuarial analysis such as reserve reviews, premium and loss trending, claims ultimate projections, normalisation, standardisation, de-seasonalisation, and prospective trend development. Assist GI clients in developing strategies to deploy and utilise state of the art modelling and decision-making processes in the areas of pricing, fraud, marketing, and other areas of risk and uncertainty. Design and (working with our Digital Sciences team) develop new modelling techniques and diagnostic tools for insurers to assist them in uncovering improper, erroneous or sub-optimal components of their modelling environment. Develop new bespoke models and create API-accessible live scoring capabilities for GI clients wishing to expand their modelling sophistication on an outsourced basis. Identify and form partnerships with data providers enabling FTI to deliver to the market new sources of proprietary insurance-optimised data for inclusion in GI modelling activities. Develop, deliver, and operationalise a retro-on-demand new dataset evaluation capability. Develop compelling cutting-edge thought pieces and go-to-market propositions and execute effective outbound marketing with the help of our marketing team; resulting in increases in client engagement and lead generation. Analyse industry trends and participate in forums to expand brand awareness among prospective customers throughout the EMEA region. Take a leadership role in client engagements as well as junior staff oversight. Evaluate new analytical non-modelling techniques such as numerical solutions which may be effective in the measurement and understanding of various phenomena. Qualified non-life actuary. Extensive modelling experience, expert in GLM/EMBlem, Proficient in R/Python. 10 years' experience within the General Insurance industry. Minimum 2.1 Degree in either a Business or IT discipline. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills. An understanding of generic business strategy and the components that underpin high performance. Excellent consultative, communication, presentation and management skills. Entitlement to work in the UK.
