Overview

THE COMPANY: My client is a global, award winning, business with operations across the world, and a head office based on the outskirts of Leeds. The company have been through some significant growth and change in recent times, and as a result they are now looking to appoint a technically strong, commercially focused, Financial Controller to report to the FD. This role would be ideally suited to ACA Qualified Accountant who is commercially focused, looking to make their first, or second move in to a Financial Controller role. The business are looking for someone highly career driven, ambitious, and on the upward trajectory of their career. THE JOB: The role will oversee a small team, and be responsible for the following key duties: Provide proactive and effective decision-making support to the Commercial areas of the business to support revenue & margin growth. Develop a Best in Class Finance function. Ensure that the requirements of the business are matched with the skills profile within the team. Support & develop staff to achieve their full potential and inspire a culture of right first time, on time. To ensure adequate financial controls exist across the business, highlighting any risk areas. Produce monthly management information, inline with the deadlines. Ensure group reporting deadlines are hit, if not overachieved Produce monthly rolling 12m forecasting information for P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow, working closely with Business Unit Directors, FD and MD. Deliver weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting, working with the internal stakeholders To review financial information with Heads of Department, providing advice and guidance to managers of other functions to assist them in sound decision making and active cost control. To ensure the accurate and timely reporting of weekly sales forecasts. To lead the financial planning process in conjunction with the FD and Heads of Department in order to ensure annual budgets are accurate and prepared in line company timeline. Oversee submissions for tax purposes prior to final review by the Finance Director. Monitor capex v budget and ensure all capex is appropriately approved & justified. Support FD & MD on ad hoc projects including acquisitions, integrations and expansion plans. Manage the financial year end process ensuring satisfactory conclusion of the audit process. Oversee production / communication of new KPI suite implemented by recently appointed FD. To be responsible for the recruitment, motivation, coaching, training and development of the Finance team. To delegate effectively to the Finance team ensuring division of tasks and responsibilities is optimal.
