Job Title: MAINTENANCE ENGINEER – DAYS – CROYDON - £43,000 Location: Based in Croydon Industry: Automated Warehouse Equipment Salary: £43,000 plus overtime (£38,000 plus £5,000 shift allowance) Hours: Working Monday – Friday - 40 hours per week (08:00-17:00) Are you a maintenance engineer looking to work for a leading automation company? THE ORGANISATION This leading Warehousing and Logistics Operation are recruiting NOW for a Maintenance Engineer to join a team in a fully automated facility based in Croydon. The Site Maintenance Engineer will deliver world class maintenance processes within a highly automated logistics system, providing high standards of equipment reliability and system technical availability. As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for: It is expected that all engineers will possess proven experience of dealing with electro-mechanical faults and preventative maintenance operations within a warehouse / industrial environment. Reporting to the Site engineer, the candidate will be eager though safety conscious, with a track record of owning problems and taking them through to successful completion. Taking a safety-first approach to all tasks and demonstrating a track record of owning problems through to successful completion. Flexibility is the key to success within this small, dynamic, highly efficient and effective engineering team. The Maintenance engineer will be involved in site planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery. The company is very well established and they are also providing electrical and mechanical training on the machines. This is a permanent position which will offer career opportunities in the future. Skills required for the Maintenance Engineer: The position requires a wide range of skills including but not limited to the following, 1 st level support– error correction within the logistics system Electrical, Mechanical, pneumatic, fault finding and repairs Planned maintenance of the automated logistic system Monitoring the technical operation of the logistic system Inspections and condition monitoring of installed equipment Efficient and effective equipment breakdown recovery Escalation management of equipment/system incidents Interact with customer management team keeping them informed of repair and maintenance progression and addressing their concerns in a professional manner. Ability to interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with 415V motor controls. Ability to follow set up instructions, assembly drawings and check lists Management of spare parts including; usage, inventory levels, repairs, receipts, replenishments, ordering Demonstrable compliance with Health and Safety regulations Compliance with customer standards and regulations Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers Appreciation of control systems (PLC, WCS, WMS, SCADA) Appreciation of industrial field bus systems (e.g. ASi, Profibus) Willing to learn and adapt to changing role requirements Appreciation of Cultural Diversity Further responsibilities include; Fault finding Continuous improvement and project work. Compliance and health and safety. Critical stock control Skills required for the Maintenance Engineer: The Maintenance Engineer MUST have an electrical qualification Completed a time served apprenticeship in an Electrical / Mechanical discipline to a min standard of NVQ 3 Experience working in an industrial factory or environment Electrical Maintenance Experience Mechanical Maintenance Experience Good Attitude and willing to learn Understanding of Non Destructive Technologies and Testing Understanding of PLC’s and their function is beneficial but not essential Understanding of WMS, WCS systems is beneficial but not essential Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge beneficial. Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills.
