Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting frontline challenge to help carry this new initiative forward? Are you the right person to be part of this specialised unit in Kings Cross for 48 men with a homelessness background who are working toward independent living? Key Responsibilities: The role of Maintenance Person involves using your good DIY skills and maintaining accommodation at Cambria House homelessness services; to a high standard and to ensure the service operates safely and successfully. The position involves planned and general maintenance, managing day to day and emergency repairs, decoration, health and safety monitoring, dealing with contractors and order administration and processing. Experience of an electrical and plumbing background would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: Knowledge of health and safety Support the mission, values and aims of The Salvation Army Self-motivation with the ability to work unsupervised, using their own initiative, as well as part of a team. The ability to use a computer and to work in a professional and confidential way is essential. Successful candidate will also like to see work through from good idea to implementation, have good communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working with vulnerable, homeless adults.
