Overview
Dutton Recruitment are currently looking for reliable, hardworking and motivated senior care assistants to work on long term bookings at a number of our clients in Newcastle. My client has both day and night shifts available so you can work just days or nights or a bit of both and shifts are 8-8 both day and night. As a senior on duty you will report directly to the manager on duty and be responsible for the efficient running of your shift and delegating duties to the 4-5 care staff on your unit. You will be responsible for overseeing the health and wellbeing of clients with a mixture of dementia, health and social care needs, some sensory impairment and people with age related illnesses. As the senior on duty of your unit you will be responsible for completing the medication round, monitoring the health of your residents and ensuring that the clients welfare is being protected and that excellent standards of care are given. My client will give you a detailed induction before you work on shift to ensure you understand their medication systems and are happy with the way they do their medication rounds. To be considered for these roles you must have up to date medication training and mandatory training however mandatory refresher courses can be arranged. You will have a DBS on the online DBS system or be prepared to do another one and be able to give us satisfactory references to send off from previous employers. You must have experience as a senior, or team leader and have completed medication rounds and have the confidence and experience of leading a unit or shift.
