Overview

An exciting Accounts Assistant opportunity has arisen with one of our clients who are an award winning media company. They have over 30 years of industry experience and their media behaviour is based on a scientific approach. This is an entry level position and will not suit someone with experience due to the nature of the role. If you are looking to get into finance and accountancy and can demonstrate good organisation and attention to detail skills then this role could be just right for you. Our client has established themselves as a dynamic and international business who deliver a wide range of content around the globe. The Accounts Assistant will principally act as support to the Financial Controller, as well as undertaking various duties for the Credit Control Manager to ensure the effective and efficient running of the business. Pay - £18,000 - £21,000 per annum (dependent on experience) benefits Location - Central London Working hours - 9.00am - 5.30pm The Role: Daily/Monthly bank reconciliations. Processing payments to all house suppliers for all entities. Processing all company credit card transactions for Board Directors. Maintaining and reconciling petty cash as and when needed. Processing and raising payments for all internal expense claims. Reconciliation of various ledgers. Inputting income to management accounts Payables for our internal production company Chasing debtors by telephone and email reducing debtor days. Allocation of payments received in accordance to remittance. Raising and handing out draft invoices to media teams for approval. Daily bank run to pay in cheques. Weekly debtor meetings with Credit Control Manager and Finance Director. Distributing system reports to the finance team. Assist Credit Control Manager with any other necessary duties. Candidate profile: The ideal candidate will have knowledge of double entry bookkeeping. The candidate must also possess intermediate Microsoft Excel skills as well as the ability to assess and improve the quality of management information. The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels in the organisation is also required. We are also looking for the candidate to have the following attributes: Some previous experience of working in an office environment would be preferred. Enthusiastic and motivated candidate. Confident user of Microsoft Office packages. Ability to interact with all levels of management. Good attention to detail. Comfortable liaising with clients via telephone and email. Ability to multitask in accordance with changing priorities. Able to build good rapport with immediate colleagues and clients.
