Advanced Social Worker, Learning Disability Team Job Reference: L73-A-20-0359 Swindon Borough Council Swindon Salary: £37,230 to £38,760 p.a. 37 hours per week Transitions and Learning Disability Teams, Adult Social Care Swindon Borough Council are expanding and developing the Transitions and Learning disability team in Adult Social Care. These teams have separate line management, however work very closely together to form one larger team. The main legal framework both teams work within is The Care Act. Learning Disability Team Within the adult learning disability team, we work with individuals living within a variety of settings to maximise their independence and life opportunities. We work within a multi-disciplinary framework . Alongside the completion of Care Act assessments, this team offers an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the areas of capacity, DoLs and court work. As an advanced social worker, you will have a post graduate qualification in a relevant area, e.g. Practice Educator, Best Interests Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional. The Advanced social worker role will require a person who has extensive knowledge, skills and experience of working within mental health and forensic services and the legal framework surrounding these. They will be responsible for managing a complex caseload where people are living in a variety of different settings. The successful applicant will have experience of and a passion to work with young adults who may have a learning disability, physical disability or mental health needs and are committed to providing a person centred and strengths based approach to their work.
