Overview
Are you an ACCA / ACA qualified Accounts Senior from a small or medium firm background looking to upgrade to a niche accountancy practice firm based in zone 2 North London that specialises in working with music, media, creative and entertainment clients? Are you looking to work for a firm where you can gain exposure to interesting clients and better quality work, and assist the partners with the day to day smooth running of the accounts department? Are you also looking to work in a general practice role, where you can utilise all of your accounts, tax, supervisory and advisory skills? If so, this growing independent accountancy practice with around 30 staff is looking to recruit a new member of staff due to impressive growth over the last few years. Based in the business services department, your role will be varied, and will include managing a portfolio of clients, preparing statutory and management accounts for clients, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and supervising junior members of staff in preparing Vat returns and bookkeeping assignments. You will be responsible for reviewing work, help to manage a small team as well as ad hoc projects. You will also be responsible for liaising with clients and building relationships. A very strong emphasis is put on the advisory side of accountancy and you will be expected to provide value added advice to your clients on a regular basis. Your role will mainly be supervisory based but will include a hands on element for more complex work. You will work directly with the partners and be the first point of contact for clients. Your client base will be varied and include an impressive array of SME and medium sized businesses, all from the music, media, creative, entertainment and art sectors (eg music promoters, music producers, designers, fashion labels, gigs, shows and events, festivals, ticket sales, music agents, security and stewardship providers etc). To be considered for this new role you must be a fully qualified Accounts Senior ideally with some PQE but recently qualified candidates will also be considered. Your current role must include the above duties (including completing accounts and tax assignments from start to finish, supervising staff and ideally managing a portfolio of clients). You will now be looking to upgrade to a firm where you can advise interesting and high growth entrepreneurial clients and have high levels of responsibility from day one. Experience in a range of software packages would be an advantage particularly sage and CCH. You must also be looking to progress to Manager grade in a short space of time.
