Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Choice Assistant to join an organisation based in East London. The ideal candidate would have experience and knowledge of homelessness, benefits, landlord and tenant law Key roles include: Meeting and greeting service users at reception and effectively managing queues. Establishing the identity of service users by obtaining proof of identity, proof of income, employment, proof of homelessness and household composition. Being the first point of contact to provide accessible and comprehensive options advice to households approaching the organisation as facing homelessness. Interview applicants presenting with Section 21 notices to establish the validity of the notice, contact landlords and give appropriate advice. Ensure accurate case notes of interviews are maintained and a copy is given to the service user in line with good practice. Sign post service users to other services for further support to resolve their particular enquiry.
