Excellent opportunity for a commercial technology lawyer to join an award winning technology team at a future facing law firm. About the role Our TMT group has an opportunity for a business-focused lawyer to join our highly ranked technology team in London. The team operates as a seamless unit between the firm's offices in London, Bristol, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow, advising on a broad range of matters for clients across a number of industry sectors including Financial Services, Technology and Media, Life sciences and energy. Candidates with approximately 2 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a City, major regional or leading international firm will be considered. The role includes: - Involvement in a broad range of commercial, IP, IT and data protection matters - Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts such as collaboration, licensing, supply and distribution agreements - Providing efficient professional support for partners - Developing professional relationships with clients - Supporting the wider team in developing business and raising profile of the firm - Involvement in marketing events and business development opportunities About you You will have excellent analytical skills and experience of running your own files and assisting partners on more complex, higher value deals and transactions along with sound judgement and good interpersonal and consultancy skills. Due to the role being client facing, experience and confidence in dealing directly with clients is essential. Essential Skills: - Degree/CPE/LPC/GDL (or equivalent) - Knowledge of IP, IT, technology and data protection issues in addition to having developed strong general commercial expertise - Appropriate level of post qualification experience in a City, major regional or leading international firm - Experience in handling clients in major blue chip companies - Excellent drafting skills and the ability to translate legal theory into practical advice - Due to the role being client facing you will need to have sound judgment and good interpersonal and consultancy skills Desired Skills: - Knowledge of the TMC, FS and/or Energy sectors.
