Purchasing Assistant Location: Ware, SG12 9QL Salary: £23,000-£24,000 per annum Hours of Work: Mon-Thurs 9-5, Friday 9-4 About the Company: Our client is a UK based multinational with operations across Europe, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and South East Asia. They’re also geared towards rapid response because they know their customers have to be quick to market Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities: Accurate processing of Purchase Orders in Formpak Evaluate internal customer priority requirements and achieve deadlines bearing in mind EFF business goals Track supplier sample submissions through the EFF internal system Internal Customer satisfaction, by ensuring all are kept fully up to date with timely and accurate information Liaising/coordinating with other functions within EFF to meet requirements both within the UK group and with other Affiliates To act quickly accurately and carefully in any purchase transactions To follow up Purchase orders to ensure timely deliveries Occasional supplier visits – contributing to building relationships Coordinating with Operations on stock levels and ETA of orders Coordinating with Perfumery group on availability of materials Accurate customer data on purchasing system i.e. addresses, contacts, customer requirements, packaging etc. Administration function of purchasing systems To reduce costs where possible without compromise on quality In depth involvement with Annual stocktake Fielding calls from suppliers Proactively source new materials and packaging Purchasing Assistant Requirements: At least 12 months in a similar Purchasing role Excellent communications skills emphasised on being tactful and convincing Accurate and well organised individual An individual with a flexible approach Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision as well as part of a team Ability to associate and deal with other cultures, language and levels within the operating area GCSE (A-C) or equivalent with experience in a high paced supply chain environment Ability to react positively to tight deadlines Good accurate computer skills Desirable: Working Knowledge of FORMPAK (training would be given on this interim software) IFS software knowledge (Distinct advantage) CIPS qualification Advanced Excel knowledge Additional language skills (Advantageous) Knowledge of Halal and Kosher certification processes Knowledge of Inward Processing relief Purchasing Assistant Benefits: 20 days holiday per year, rising by 2 days per year after 2 years to a maximum of 30 days Competitive salary paid 5% contribution to Pension Birthday off Flexi /sickness scheme subject to 6 month qualifying period If you think that you are suitable for this Purchasing Assistant role, please apply now
