Short Description: An exciting opportunity has become available in a fast growing, well established gas detection company, who are growing beyond the £20M annual group turnover. The Service Manager will be responsible for providing the highest level of customer service with a sales-minded attitude while developing lasting customer relationships. Service Manager - The Role: First point of contact for service questions on all products. Day-to-day contact with customers, suppliers, distributers via email and telephone. Preparing quotations for repairs, recalibrations, spares, accessories. Ensuring technicians are fully utilised and trained in their role. Ensure internal calibration equipment is within specification Maximising instrument returns for service. Ensure all service targets are achieved. Ensuring instruments are received and returned in a timely manner. Maintain calibration department database of calibration equipment. Facilitate company/distributor visits. Provide internal training for new employees. Ensure distribution service centres are maintained to set standards. Administration of service manuals, service procedures and all other relevant documentation. Set up all distribution service centres. Analyse data from service centres and ensure correct revenue is generated. Ensure all relevant information is passed to ISL Accounts Department. Ensure all service employees are fully trained by carry out on site internal training Ensure all centres are fully equipped to carry out their jobs as required. Working in conjunction with the procurement team ensure there are enough levels of stock on site. Service Manager - The Person: This is a hands-on role and the person appointed will: Able to communicate at all levels, using a variety of formats in an effective manner. Able to work well within a team and develop productive working relationships Have flexibility to respond positively & reliably to internal and external requests. Financially & commercially astute. Ability to resolve high level & complex issues with process driven action & improvements Ability to "lead by example" and have excellent managerial skills. Demonstrate operational confidence to the customer at all times. Possess excellent negotiating skills and has the ability to influence at all levels. Demonstrates an open mind to problem solving. Able to work well under pressure. Self-motivated. Service Manager - Technical Skills and Experience: Due to the hands-on nature of the position we seek candidates possessing extensive and recent experience in the following areas: Knowledge of CRM and SAP or equivalent systems. Knowledge of Import & Export procedures Previous Service Experience Comprehensive Industry Knowledge Management Experience Technical Qualifications: Degree in Business is preferable.
