Agricultural Engineering Opportunities Our Agricultural authoring team are continuing to grow and we're now on the lookout again for new recruits to join our highly skilled team in producing technical publications for agricultural machinery. If you have a technical background in agricultural/plant/heavy machinery and an interest or experience in technical authoring, we want to hear from you Job Purpose: To create and update technical publications (workshop manuals and operator manuals) to the very highest quality. The workshop and operator manuals are produced as printed books and as digital publications. To produce all content in line with authoring guidelines and authoring standards. Documentation will meet requirements to drive reuse whilst creating a consistent format for multiple brands in a global marketplace. Main Responsibilities: Gather, collate and interpret engineering information Communicate with key internal and customer stakeholders Utilise a suite of structured authoring tools and guidelines, interpret technical specifications to create customer-focused publications Utilise CAD data and software tools Author text, simplifying complex systems into structured and understandable content Create concise graphic briefs for Technical Illustrators Manage machine validation workshops in conjunction with key stakeholders Work under your own initiative with minimal supervision Proof-read documentation ensuring all deliverables meet the required standards Candidate: Ideally you will have experience as a Service Technician or Agricultural Engineer or Technical Authoring. You will join an established authoring team although you will be expected to work independently as required. Person Specification: Agricultural/Plant machinery experience (preferable) Excellent English, both written and spoken High level of technical aptitude Ability to research information required to complete tasks Ability to refine and develop existing processes and work methods Strong communication skills particularly influencing and persuading Capable of managing and prioritising workload and working to tight deadlines Able to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions Ability to proofread technical documentation Experience of authoring to STE and DITA standards (preferable but not essential) Knowledge of relevant work method tools (X-Metal, Vis Mockup, Photoshop and Microsoft office) (preferable but not essential) Experience working with content management systems (preferable but not essential) Knowledge and experience of how to write and adapt content for specific target groups Full / Clean Driving License Willing to travel This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89858190
